Infinity Kanha Wilderness - First Images!

It gives me great pleasure to present the first images from Infinity Kanha Wilderness. These images were taken by our Administrator, Pankaj Pandya!

Infinity Kanha Wilderness will open for the 2010 season and promises to be a fabulous property. This eco-resort will cover a mere four acres on a twenty-four acre property. The unbuilt twenty acres will be WILD!

More pictures from Pankaj on the 14th! Watch this space, even better use the box on the lower right to subscribe to this blog!

Birds of Infinity Corbett Wilderness | 5

White-throated Fantail (Rhipidura albicollis), albicollis means 'white throat'

Ali-Ripley number (1454-9)

This is the subspecies R.a.canescens (Koelz), "distinguished from other members of the genus by its entire dark belly." (Ali-Ripley 1983)

They say that it prefers shady places of forests and wooded nullahs and "flits tirelessly" after its prey of insects. It breeds from March to August.

Here at Infinity Wilderness, the White-throated Fantail, an irritated looking bird, is found in the run-off or tiny rivulets and stagnant pools water by the River Kosi. These tend to have a lot of insects around the water and the banks have vegetation that shelters the bird. It swoops down after the insects and then returns to cover. It is a fast-moving bird and a nightmare to photograph.
